GREEN DESIRE

(1966, 16mm, Color, Sound, 18.5min.)

Preserved by Anthology Film Archives through the Avant-Garde Masters program funded by The Film Foundation and administered by the National Film Preservation Foundation.

A delicate color film that roams breast high grasslands and yellow meadows with a lanky youth in a quest for a boulder studded brook that bridges the adolescent to the to her side, into Manhood.

A youth wanders the landscape of grass and sky in search of puzzling impulses. GREEN DESIRE is an exquisite and rarely seen example of Kuchar’s masterful use of color, texture, and tone.
